Bosone, Reva Beck [Congresswoman]; Smith, Margaret Chase [Senator]; Humphrey, Hubert
Salt Lake City; Washington, D.C. 1935-1983. The present collection documents the public and political career of Reva Beck Bosone (1895–1983), the first woman elected to Congress from Utah (1948–1952), and one of the most prominent female public officials in mid-twentieth-century America. Spanning her early municipal service in the 1930s through her judicial, congressional, and federal administrative roles of the 1950s–1970s, the collection provides primary-source insight into the life and work of a pioneering figure in American political history.
