Halae Magdeburgicae [Halle]: Orphanotrophei, 1720. Octavos, Two Volumes. In Good condition. Bound in full contemporary mottled calf with elegant gilt spines and two morocco labels with gilt titling. Gilt roll to board edges. Boards show moderate plus wear to edges and along joints, several instances of staining (especially to front cover of Vol. II.), and light shelf wear overall. Text blocks have light shelf wear to bottom edges, and faint damp staining to bottom edge of Vol. II. (impacting bottom margins pages interiorly, but not text), and moderate uneven age-toning and foxing to pages interiorly throughout. Edges dyed blue. Engraved frontispiece in Vol. I., showing Biblical figures receiving the Bible from heaven. Text in Hebrew and Latin. Unpaginated. Volume I includes the books of Genesis through Isaiah (in Hebrew), each with Latin preface. Volume II includes the books of Jeremiah through II Chronicles (in Hebrew), each with Latin preface.
