Spines have red rot, heavy rubbing and scuffing, and scattered cracking and chipping to leather. Boards have red rot, previous owner’s name in pen to rear boards, splitting to joints, bumping to corners, and peeling to leather, rubbing, and scuffing throughout; Vol. 1 has a black stain to bottom fore corner of rear board; Vol. 2 has a large stain to fore edge of front board, and extensive staining to rear board; Vol. 3 has scattered staining to rear board. Text blocks have age-toning, scuffing, and tide marks to edges; have splitting to hinges adhesive toning to pastedowns, and age-toning to margins throughout; Vol. 1 has book plate, paper label, and partially covered provenance marks to front pastedown, and heavy pencil annotation throughout; Vol. 2 has provenance marks to pastedowns and tide marks to fore margins throughout; Vol. 3 has provenance marks to pastedowns, provenance mark to front flyleaf, and tide marks to fore margins of some pages near rear.
