General shelf wear with light scuffing and soiling, primarily to rear board. Residue from previously adhered label on rear board. Slip of paper adhered to and pen to front free endpaper. Light pen and penciling scattered throughout interior. Some creasing to bottom corners of textblock. Cover label mistakenly identifying this as the 1611, when it is the 1613, with the text printed in smaller type with 72 lines instead of the 59 to the full column. Shelved in Case 4.

The King James Version (KJV) of the Bible was commissioned by King James VI (Scotland) and I (England and Ireland) in 1604 for the Church of England and the Church of Scotland. Being only the third English translation of the Bible, the KJV holds a significant influence on modern Christian thought and is still one of the most widely read versions. The original Authorized Version was published in 1611 by the King's Printer, Robert Barker. The Acts of the Apostles, contained here, if the fifth book of the New Testament and details the foundation of the Christian Church and its growth amongst the Roman Empire.
