Baron Guillaume Dupuytren was a notable French anatomist and military surgeon who served as the surgeon-in-chief at the Hôtel-Dieu in Paris. Lectures on Clinical Surgery compiles his oral lectures and clinical demonstrations, documenting his surgical techniques, anatomical observations, and classifications of various medical conditions. This 1835 English translation, published in the year of Dupuytren's death, served to transmit advanced surgical techniques and clinical practices from France to America.
