London: John & Arthur Arch, John Hatchard et al. 1818 - 1832. First Edition. Octavo, unpaginated. 10 of 20 volumes. Fair condition. Bound in crossed brown leather with gilt decorative borders on both covers. Corners are bumped with some wear. Spine has gilt lettering on burgundy labels and five decorative bands. Spine ends are frayed and some missing pieces. Marbled end papers. All text block edges are tanned/dusted, with some foxing throughout. Many pages have offsetting from prints.
Volume 1 - Rear board separated from spine. Front board has top 1/3 separated from spine. Verso of free front end paper has writing and damp stains. Title page and facing page heavily foxed. Volume 3 - Bottom 1/2" of spine is torn but still attached. Volume 5 - Top1/2" of spine is damaged. Volume 7 - Front hinge is cracked. Bottom 1" of spine torn from rear hinge.Top 1" of spine torn. Volume 10 - rear hinge is cracked with 1" separated from top of spine. Spine is separated from front hinge. Volume 12 - Front and rear hinges are cracked, Volume 13 - Front board separated from spine. Text block is cracked. Volume 15 - Front hinge cracked, 1" piece torn on bottom of spine. Volume 19 - Front and rear hinges are cracked. Text block cracked. Shelved in Room A Octavo Overflow.
