London: William S. Orr & Co., 1834-1846. First Edition. Octavo, 13 volumes. Very Good Minus condition. Bound in brown leather binding with a thin gilt decorative trim on both boards. Boards have some denting and soiling. Corners are slightly rounded with light wear. Spine has gilt decorations and writing, with black labels. Spine ends are lightly worn and rounded, with a few volumes having small pieces out of either spine end. Text block has gilt edges, with light foxing throughout. Owners bookplate on inside front cover of all volumes.
This the first 13 volumes of the 16 volume set of this renown botanical publication.
All of the over 700 plates have tissue guards, with a number of the plates being double-page spreads, instead of fold-outs that exist in other copies. Shelved in Room A Octavo Overflow.
