Nigeria. Carved wooden female figure on a wood base, featuring movable arms, stylized facial features, and an elaborate coiffure with braids. The figure is adorned with waist rings and has a dark-brown painted surface. The movable arms indicate possible use in display, performance, or ceremonial contexts. Dimensions approximately 21 x 8.5 x 6 inches In Good condition. The figure exhibits moderate surface wear, including paint loss, abrasions, chipping, scratches, discoloration, and exposed wood. Insect holes are present, particularly around the abdomen and midsection. There is a 5-inch split from the top of the head to the back of the neck and a 3.5-inch vertical crack on the right torso. The movable arms are misaligned, resulting in a 0.25-0.5-inch gap at the shoulder joints. Additional chipping is noted on the proper right side and lower left tip of the hair braid, as well as on the fingers and toes. The base has scattered horizontal cracks.
