Frayed beige ribbon woven in at bottom. Thirteen signatures at bottom as well, including that of U.S. congressman, Secretary of State, and Transylvania University faculty member Henry Clay.

Henry Clay (1777-1852) was an American lawyer and politician who represented Kentucky in the United States Senate and House of Representatives. He also served as Secretary of State during the administration of John Quincy Adams. In addition to his public service, Clay worked as a lawyer and was appointed to the faculty of Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, the first university west of the Appalachian Mountains, in 1805.
