18/19th CENTURY CHINESE HAND EMBROIDERED SILK PANEL

China: Late 18th - Early 19th Century. A Chinese silk hand embroidery panel in a long vertical composition featuring floral, butterfly, and bamboo motifs. Bamboo and blossoming flowers symbolize resilience and renewal, while butterflies evoke joy and longevity. Housed in a wooden gold frame. Image: approximately 4 in x 17 in; Frame: 11 in x 25 in. In very good condition. The silk ground shows general toning and minor discoloration. Frame has minor edge wear. Shelved at Dupont.
