"Květy: obrazový týdeník" (often cited simply as “Květy”) was a Czech illustrated weekly magazine that emerged in the 19th century and became one of the longest-running and most influential popular periodicals in Czech lands, combining literature, cultural commentary, and richly illustrated content for a broad readership. Its title—roughly translating to “Flowers: an illustrated weekly”—reflects its original focus on cultivating national culture during the Czech National Revival, publishing fiction, poetry, engravings, and later photography alongside reportage and social commentary. Over time, the magazine evolved with political and cultural shifts—from the Austro-Hungarian era through Czechoslovakia and into the modern Czech Republic—remaining a mainstream cultural weekly similar in format and purpose to other illustrated European magazines. While not identical, it can be understood in the broader tradition of Czech pictorial weeklies such as "Pestrý týden", which likewise blended journalism and visual culture for mass audiences.
