Two rare Italian scientific pamphlets on horology and timekeeping, both bearing contemporary presentation inscriptions to engineers, issued within two decades of one another. The Golfarelli, a popular lecture on the history of clockmaking and time measurement addressed privately to a circle of workers, acquaintances, and friends, was published by the Florentine freethinker press Libero Pensiero. The Raddi is a technical note on a new centesimal clock design with complete sexagesimal conversion, published by the Engineering Typography and Lithography press in Milan. Together they offer a rare glimpse into the Italian engineering and horology community of the late nineteenth century.
