Original 1895 Medical Officer of Health certification issued by the University of Cambridge, preserved together with its original registered mailing envelope—both retaining their original wax seals. The certificate is issued to John William Frank Jewell, M.D., certifying his qualifications in Sanitary Science, including the causes and prevention of epidemic and infectious disease, public health law, and environmental conditions affecting health. Signed by A. Austen Leigh, Vice-Chancellor of Cambridge, with original red wax seal and green ribbon intact. Document measures 12.75 in. x 13.75 in.
