HANDWRITTEN SHIP'S LEDGER [with] LETTER TO CAPTAIN AMBROSE WHITE | 1818-1823

1818-1823. Folio, unpaginated. In Good minus condition. Quarter-bound in leather with marbled paper boards. Boards have tears to the leather spine, a label to the front board mostly torn away, chipping to edges, bumping to corners, stains and heavy rubbing wear throughout. Textblock rear pages are detached, moderate age toning, foxing throughout, and wear to edges. Contains residue of pages that have been torn away throughout. Previous owner’s signature “Robert A. Ralph” and dated “Jan. 21, 1959” to the front pastedown. The last page is a letter addressed "To Capt. Ambrose White" and conveys the news that the writer's wife has passed away. The letter was left unsigned. Shelved in Room F.
