Cracking to front hinge on Volume II. Edges of textblock gilt, with painted fore edges showing Wedgwood vases on both and a portrait on Volume I. With marbled endpapers and inner dentelles. Burgundy morocco gilt bookplate bookplates to front pastedowns of bookseller and collector William Foyle at Beeleigh Abbey. Tearing to front free endpaper in Volume II. Foxing toward front and rear of textblocks. Frontispiece portraits in each and black-and-white illustrations throughout. Shelved in Case 10.
