NOTES

This is a rare first edition of a compilation focusing on female sexuality, psychology, and relationships published by Grāmatu Draugs, which operated in the city of Riga in Latvia during the interwar period. This book is an example of the "liberated" literature of the time, discussing topics that were were being increasingly censored in the USSR. Latvian works of this type from this era are quite rare because many were lost or destroyed when Latvia came under Soviet occupation, as the USSR considered literature of this type to be subversive.
