NOTES

"The Science of Life" is often considered the "first modern textbook of biology." It was originally released in 31 serialized issues from 1929-1930 in the UK before being published in a three volume edition.
Author H.G. Wells (1866-1946) is best known for his groundbreaking science-fiction novels, including "The Invisible Man" and "The War of the Worlds." Julian Huxley (1887-1975) was an evolutionary biologist and eugenicist. G. P. Wells (1901-1985), H.G. Wells' son, was an author and zoologist.
