Boston: George Barrie Publisher, 1883. First Edition. Folios, Two Volumes. In Very Good condition. In handsome matching full brown morocco bindings, with intricate gilt decoration on covers and turn-ins, and gilt roll along board edges; spines paneled with similar gilt decoration and gilt titling; text block edges gilt. Some visible shelf wear to boards, with some rubbing and small strikes along board edges, and faint scuffs and scrapes to covers. Fore corners are bumped and rubbed, with small sections of exposed board. Mild scuffing visible on text block edges. Vol. I leaves in first signature are loose (title page and following leaf); some other pages throughout are mostly separated, but remain bound. Both volumes lightly age toned and foxed throughout. Some small, sparse marginal tears present. All present plates remain adhered to their leaves, some more firmly attached than others.

CONTENTS: Vol. I (144 pages, plus 50 of 51 plates; missing one plate: Boreas Carrying Off Orithyia, facing p. 40); Vol. II (134 pages, plus 62 plates). Shelved in Room F Elephant.
