1993. A one-page typed letter on embossed personal stationery of former U.S. President George H. W. Bush, dated December 23, 1993, addressed to Mr. Edwin J. Smith, Jr. of Washington, D.C. The letter expresses condolences on the death of Philip Guarino, a mutual acquaintance, noting Bush’s affection and respect for him.
