New York: Leavitt & Allen, c. 1850s. Quarto, 112 pages, plus 30 engraved plates. In Good condition. Bound in full red cloth with gilt ornamentation and lettering to spine and boards. Rebacked with original spine preserved. Boards have moderate rubbing wear throughout, fraying to edges, and bumping to spine and fore corners. Textblock has rubbing wear to the pastedowns, tears to the edges of some end papers, foxing and stains to some pages throughout, offsetting to the opposite pages of the plates, and gilt edges. The third front free end page has a pencil inscription dated 1857. Contains a previous owner's cross stitch decorations adhered to the rear free end page; a tipped in decorated paper doily; and a hand-written poem pasted onto the rear free end page. SR Consignment.
