In Very Good condition overall with age toning, wear to corners and edges (with a few small tears along edges and creases), and a 3 in. x 3 in. tear to final leaf.

A complete escritura de dote (dowry contract), executed in 1630, between Antonio López Borges[?] and La Cofradía del Rosario, concerning the marriage settlement and dowry of 450 pesos. The document sets out the terms of the marriage, the property and obligations recognized, and the mutual rights and securities accorded to the parties. Extensively signed at the end by the principals and multiple witnesses, with ornate notarial rúbricas. Docketed on the verso as “No. 52, Año 1630” with further notes of registration. RW Consignment.
