Boards have mild shelving wear, moderate wear along the extremities, light fraying along the tail fore corners and rear fore edge, and a small dent on the rear board fore edge. Textblock has the artist's photo stained onto the title page from the frontispiece, mild bending wear along the fore edges and corners of some pages, marbled end-pages and pastedowns, mild age-toning along the edges, and gilt head edges. NOTES
Frontispiece is from when Alan Seeger was 22 while still a student at Harvard. Seeger would join the French Foreign Legion in 1914 during the outbreak of World War 1 as Seeger himself was living in France. Seeger would perish in the Battle of the Somme in 1916, his poems and writings during the war being posthumously published and selling six editions within a year.
