Dust jacket is wrapped in a mylar covering, price is uncut "$2.95", has stains on the mylar cover, staining on the rear cover, mild age-toning, mild wear along the edges, a tear and bending wear along the front head edge, pencil markings on the rear head joint corner, and mild wear along the spine head and tail edges. Boards have mild wear along the edges, mild age-toning along the edges, mild wear along the fore corners, and mild bending and wear along the spine head and tail edges. Textblock has moderate age-toning throughout, mild adhesive wear along the front and rear pastedowns, dust staining on the rear end-page and pastedown, and mild wear along the edges. This edition of "Foundation and Empire" was published and bound by Doubleday, however, the textblock was printed using the original Gnome Press plates. A number of Doubleday's early printings of the "Foundation" trilogy, after acquiring the printing rights from Gnome Press in 1962, were made using the printing plates from Gnome Press.
