1867. Folio, 10 leaves with hand-written text (seven of which are also hand-painted) and 6 sepia-toned printed plates. In Good condition. Bound in full black leather with gilt titling to front board. Front board nearly detached. Moderate plus rubbing and wear to edges and corners of boards, resulting in loss of pigment in some areas; light overall rubbing and wear to board surfaces. Head and tail of spine chipped. Text block age toned with moderate staining to fore edges of some pages.

The handwritten text consists of extracts from Alfred, Lord Tennyson's Idylls of the King, alongside a dedicatory leaf near the beginning of the volume and a signature leaf at the end. The seven hand-painted illustrations range from ornamented dropped capitals to full painted scenes around the text, echoing the content of the text and in some cases elements of the adjacent printed plate.

The album was created for Adria Fanny Heath (1845-1926), in honor of her marriage to General Frederic Augustus Thesiger, 2nd Baron Chelmsford (1827-1905). The artist, Lieutenant-Colonel John North Crealock (1836-1895) fought alongside Thesiger during the Indian Rebellion of 1857 and during the Anglo-Zulu War (1879).
