Paris, France: Éditions Tête de Feuilles, 1973. First Edition Thus. Octavos, eight volumes. In Very Good condition. Bound in black cloth with gilt lettering and tooling. Minor shelfwear and rubbing to spines and boards. Light bumping to fore-edges. Volumes have light stray pencil marks along with slight black ink marks along corners of textblock edges and on edges of assorted pages. Light soiling to edges of textblocks. Volume one has minor writing in pencil on half-title page and minor stray ink markings to top edge of textblock. Volume two has light chipping to back cover, light residue to front cover, and minor indentation to top edge of textblock due to creased pages. Volume three has stray ink marks to top edge of textblock. Volume four has minor chipping and scratch marks to front cover. Volume 7 has mild rubbing and scratching to front and back covers, slight tears to bottom edge of text block at pages xviii, xix, and xxvii, and slight sticky residue along bottom edge of textblock. Volume 8 has minor scratching to covers and slight shiny residue to spine. Age toning to textblocks. Each volume includes red endpages and orange ribbons. Black and white facsimiles of paintings and Sade's handwritten manuscripts tipped in after "Voyage d'Italie" in volume 8. Shelved above Science.
