NOTES
This text explores Sade's ideas on novels (including his) as taken from his original letters and writings kept at the Comédie-Française's archive. In the preface, Uzanne is adamant that the reader give de Sade's "Idée Sur Les Romans" a chance despite his "infernal reputation."
