Thick folio (15 X 9.5) in ivory hardcovers with six-band embossed spine and title in black letters; condition: Good; substantial soiling on spine and fraying on edges; binding is strong, with open gutter in the back; previous owner’s penciled inscriptions on ffep; one regular plate and one double-folded plate missing; first front end page, first engraving and title page have a 7 X 5 deep right hand corner chip; first few pages also chipped but repaired with pasted paper; substantial chipping and ripping in right hand corner (6 in X 4.5 in X 1 in); a couple of double-page plates are cut off half way along the fold; occasional staining and off-setting on plates; in German; book is sold as is; this is a 1685 edition of the work Joachim von Sandrart, German Baroque historian, first published in 1680; shelved in Case # 4; due to size and weight, please contact us for shipping costs.
