Large quarto in 3/4 brown marble with burgundy leather; VG; 6 band embossed spine with gold gilt; boards show some amount of shelf wear around corners and spine and slight soiling; small sticker inside front board; previous owner's signatures on ffep; strong binding; paper slightly faded and plates clean; contains 190 lithographs of patterns and 10 color lithographs (1 with gold lining); Jules Bourgoin traveled to Damascus in 1875 and came upon 150 plates which he could not acquire but reproduced and elaborated upon; 47 pages of text in French; shelved in Case 7.
