GEORGE BERNARD SHAW | FRAMED ALS
Harlech, Wales: 1921. Framed ALS and envelope, single sheet. In Very Good condition. Letter is housed in a painted wooden frame with a white cloth mat. Some scuffs on frame. Small area of adhesive residue on glass. Letter is written in black ink by Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw, addressed to lecture circuit manager James B. Pond. In the letter, Shaw declines to embark on a North American lecture tour, making jabs at Pond's overtly commercial incentive in making the request for him to do so. The letter and envelope are moderately age toned; envelope is lightly soiled. Letter is faintly creased from having been folded into fourths. Shelved in [location]. More
