Cloth has mild general wear including slightly cocked spine, light rubbing to the edges and a few, tiny scuffs exteriorly. Gilt illustration to the front and gilt rules to the spine. Beveled edges. Text block shows slight age toning to the edges with sparse, minor marks. Slight hairline cracking to the front hinge and small crack the head and tail edge to rear hinge. Slight crease to pastedown to the head fore corner. Tiny chip to folded map at page xv. Cracking to gutter at pages two hundred forty partially loosening pages two hundred forty one to two hundred seventy two. Illustrated. First edition.
