This is the only tampering with in these volumes that we have noticed.; spines newly rebound, previous brown leather boards present; moderate wear and soiling to boards, including some rounding to corners, chipping to leather; small stamp of a name to ffep; volume 2 has some water damage, primarily to upper for corner, and extending along the upper edge for the beginning of the volume, reached page number, but does not reach body of text; no underlining or markings to text; page 381/382 of volume 2 is torn, with the fore margin missing, none of the body of text is impacted, although the numbering in the margins is missing, page number present; minimal foxing, with what little there is sparse and faint; While newly rebound, both volumes are mislabeled on the spine.
