1945. Two cards, each 12.5x7.5cm, housed in original envelope. One card is signed flat by Arturo Toscanini in burgundy ink. The second card has five handwritten bars of Beethoven in Toscanini's hand, signed by him and dated August 13, 1945. 1945. Two letters from Henry Mason. The first is a one page typed signed letter with two folds and housed in the original envelope. Dated January 1, 1945, it discusses general pleasantries as well as Mason's opinion of the atomic bomb "Well it seems to me that a wise course is now being pursued as to this. We may all hope for the best outcome now that the terrific thing has been discovered." The second letter is a small card (13.5x8.5cm) autograph letter signed. Dated September 9, 1945, it discusses Mason acceding to a request for two phrases of his music and sending them along. With the letter are said two phrases, each on their own card with the history of the songs, being titled 'Our Christ' and 'When all the world is young, Lad.' 1903. One sheet measuring 17.5 x 23 cm, folded twice, one unfolded. Contains three pages of an autograph letter in Italian signed by Puccini. Dated March 13th, 1903, he discusses a terrible fall he had falling from an automobile in which he broke his leg and is bedridden for two months. He mentions how his work on what he just calls "Butterfly" has been interrupted. He also discusses speaking to Ricordi [Casa Ricordi, Puccini's publishing house] on behalf of the recipient and wishing him good wishes on his approaching marriage.
