Spines scuffed, esp.at bottom, uncracked, hinges sound. Textblock red-spattered, tops poss. dyed, now faded to uniform gray. Pages clean, flat and white, slight foxing, mostly to endpapers, Vol. I pgs. 785-7 top corners torn off. Text in French. 787, 751, 810, and 791 pgs. This is the 4 volume edition of 1862, not loose volumes of the 1836 12 volume edition. Shelved in alcove #1.
Paris: Libraire J. Techener, 1859. no edition listed. VG+. Three 16mos (6 1/4th" tall) in marbled brown boards with green leather half spines, titles on green leather spine in gilt. Vol I is the work of Bossuet, vol II is Bourdaloue, vol III is Massillon. Text in french. Light shelf and edgewear to boards; all vols have rubbing along edges, along spine, and light wear along hinges. Gilt on top of textblock, front edge is deckled. Spines bowed, but binding strong. Bossuet, Bourdaloue, and Massillon were contemporaneous 17th-century French theologians. Shelved French Language.
