Each poets work is preceded by a short life of the author. The memoir of Keats is by Leigh Hunt. Although Keats' literary executor, Charles Armitage Brown disliked Hunt's portrayal of his friend, his own account of Keats life was not ready in time for this edition and would not see publication for another 108 years in 1937. He did, however send some unpublished poems in his possession for inclusion in the volume. The memoir of Shelley was written by Mary Shelley, who also helped the publication of this edition by allowing the publisher access to his papers. Although this volume was published by the Galignanis in Paris, avoiding the British copyright and meaning no royalties would be due, they did have the co-operation of family members and literary friends of all three poets when assembling this impressive volume.; shelved case 0.
