Both volumes have a square-shaped area on spine, where library call number was formerly affixed, that is frayed and has some discoloration. Both volumes' pastedowns have some frays and paper remnants from formerly affixed library plates or envelopes. Both volumes' bindings are strong; Textblocks have library stamps on edges and library stamps and pencil markings on first few pages. Volume I has some waviness to some pages. Back end papers of both volumes lightly frayed at top edge. A very few pages in Volume I have small notes in red and graphite pencil, interior of Volume I otherwise clean.
