Japan. A portrait woodblock print image of the famous kabuki actor Ichikawa on stage with a snowy backdrop, portraying a melancholy scene. Koryusai Buncho (1763 – 1840) is known for his dramatic actor prints and collaborative illustrated book set, presenting stage celebrities of the day. Condition: Very good. Light crease to bottom edge. Small tear to right edge and minor yellow spots on background. Not examined out of frame. Artist’s signature on bottom right.
