THE RUSSIAN FACE OF GERMANY: AN ACCOUNT OF THE SECRET MILITARY RELATIONS BETWEEN THE GERMAN AND SOVIET-RUSSIAN GOVERNMENTS

London: Wishart & Co. 1932. First Edition. The aim of this book was to bring to the notice of British public opinion the menace to the peace of Europe constituted by secret military relations between the German and Soviet-Russian Governments. The most intensive period of Soviet military collaboration with Weimar Germany was 1930–1932. Alongside the Soviet Union's military and economic assistance, there was also political backing for Germany's military aspirations. Most of the documents pertaining to secret German-Soviet military cooperation were systematically destroyed in Germany, but some documents were recovered after world war two. This scarce book from the early pre-war years reveals how much was known at the time. Hardcover, 230 pages.

10mo., 230pp.; VG/none; bound in black cloth with red lettering on spine; lacking dust jacket; mild wear to corners, head and tail of spine; slight age-toning to pages; interior clean; extremely scarce; shelved case 9.
