Set of five notebooks; VG; covers in shiny black paper with light blue cloth case with gold letters on spine; notebooks with minimal wear; covers interior faded; ivory paper in good condition; case with moderate wear and tear around edges only; handwritten childhood diaries in black ink (including drawings) composed between November 1889 and July 1891 mostly in French and German, with occasional pages in English; Marie Bonaparte was the great grand niece of Napoleon I; she became an important supporter and later a patient of Sigmund Freud; as a result of her notebooks, she wrote essays on female sexuality in the early 20th century; this is a scarce set; shelved in case #9.
