Spine has light rubbing wear to extremities. Boards have light scuffing to extremities and a small line of adhesive residue to lower edge of rear board. Text block has age-toning to edges, two small tears to bottom edge of Table of Figures page in rear, and age-toning to margins throughout. Half-title page bears an inscription from the author, “À M. le Professeur Lécaillon/Hommage respectueux/[signature] E. Cadenat” and Albert Lécaillon’s ex-libris stamp. Text in French. NOTES

Dr. Étienne Cadenat (1895-1962) was a dental surgeon, a general pathology instructor, a laureate of the Faculty of Medicine, and a licentiate in science. His professional background included work as an anatomy assistant and a hospital resident, and he was a veteran decorated with the Croix de Guerre. The recipient of this copy was Albert Lécaillon (1869–1926,) a distinguished French zoologist and embryologist.
