1918. A typed letter signed by President Woodrow Wilson on White House stationery, dated 18 July, 1918, and addressed to A. S. Burleson. The letter regards two enclosed letters that "are important about the telegraph and telephone matters." This letter is attached via two staples to the two letters referenced, plus the envelope for the letter. One of the attached letters is a 3 page TLS from Clarence Mackay, President of the Postal Telegraph-Cable Company, to Wilson. The other is a carbon copy of the response Wilson sent Mackay. Also included is a seemingly unrelated 4 page ALS addressed to Burleson regarding the telegraph, dated July 13 / 18. This letter is attached via three staples to a piece of white paper. Very good-.
