NOTES
Myles Cooper (1735-1785) was an Anglican clergyman in New York, and a Tory opponent of the American Revolution. He fled New York in 1775 after being confronted by a pro-American mob, settling in Glasgow where he died ten years later. National Humiliation and Repentance... is a pro-British sermon given by Cooper a year after landing in Britain. References: ESTC T39622; Adams 77-32a; Sabin 16589.
