II and III with original boards preserved; Vol. I fully rebound with light blue boards and white spine); Boards show light plus bumping to head/tail of spines, moderate bumping to corners, light plus wear to edges on volumes II and III, and moderate age-toning/soiling to covers of volumes II and III; Textblocks have moderate age-toning to edges (uncut on Vols II and III), moderate shelf-wear to bottom edges of volumes II and III, light plus soiling to edges of Volume I (edges cut), and light plus foxing to pages interiorly; The signature of Spencer Roane (Virginia jurist and prominent supporter of Ratification in the Virginia House of Delegates) appears on the title-page of Volume I (and at the last page of same volume); The names of other previous owners appears in ink in Vol II ("William [illegible] Watkins / c. 1828" on front pastedown, and "Thomas Read" [crossed-out] on title-page), and in Vol. III ("R Webster"on ffep).
