Contemporary calf with black label and gilt lettering, covers tooled and gilt embossed edges. Boards show light wear to corners and bottom edges, some cracking to leather on spine, and some light wear to head/tail of spine. Textblock shows light age-toning and foxing to edges. Some light soiling to top edge, and moderate foxing throughout text. Inscription by author presenting this copy to Daniel Webster appears in ink at the top of the title-page.
