John McGraw NY Giants Vintage Photograph (1928)

Description: An 8” x 10” type 1 photograph showing John McGraw, then manager for the New York Giants, batting during practice with the team. In very good- condition. There is slight warping near the bottom and right edge, very light age-toning to the margins, a faint vertical crease on the left side of the image, and a small chip to the bottom right corner. The verso has light soiling, a blue ink stamp from the Associated press, and a pasted paper caption that reads: “This is getting to be a rare scene! / John McGraw, manager of the New York Giant’s is seen in uniform / hitting a few out to his prodigies. The veteran ball chief is / rarely seen in action with his boys and this was a real / treat for the cameraman. Picture taken at Polo Grounds, N.Y. / RCO NY 4/17/28”.
