Jimi Hendrix | Vintage Photo (1970)
An early type 2 photograph of Hendrix taken by photographer Joel Axelrod (who did some of the photography used in Hendrix’s album Blue Wild Angel). This photo was ultimately used in a 1975 issue of Rolling Stone. Measures 4.75” x 8”. In very good- condition. There are creases at the bottom right and top left corners, notation in marker in the bottom margin (printing dimensions?), cropping notation marks in the top margin, and light age-toning throughout. Caption appears in the right margin: “(((Rolling Stone profile May 3, 4, 1975))) Jimi Hendrix: Returned from a Ghostly Limbo. / (Photo by Joel Axelrod)”. Verso has several pasted captions, notations in pen and pencil, and four date-of-use stamps.
