The first is a two-page mimeographed handbill issued in New York on December 8, 1969, just four days after the assassination of Fred Hampton. The recto is headlined “Stop the Persecution of the Black Panther Party” and addresses the death of Hampton and a raid on the Black Panthers’ Los Angeles office. The bottom announces an anti-Nixon demonstration at the Waldorf organized by Youth Against War & Fascism. The verso advertises the fundraising efforts of the Defense Committee for the Wilmington “8”, which organized demonstrations and raised funds for the defense of 8 men convicted of assaulting two FBI agents in October of 1968. New York, 1969. Quarto, two pages. Two page mimeographed handbill on one sheet of light-yellow 8.5” x 11” copy paper. Very good condition. There is some uneven age-toning along the left and bottom edges (of recto), a ¼-inch closed tear on the right edge, and two small ink-marks in the left margin of the verso.;

The third is a two-page mimeographed handbill printed by the Philadelphia Branch of the Black Panther Party in March of 1970 addressing the recent death (March 2, 1970) of James Hamilton at the hands of police.
