NOTES

ESTC: T71692;

This Downing copy previously sold at auction through Henkels in 1922, where the publication date is cited to be 1700.; Maggs sold a copy in 1961, citing the date as c. 1760.;

S. Crowder only began publishing in 1754/1755. This edition is possibly a reissue of ESTC: T118175 (1760) or ESTC: N62830 (1762), 'The unfortunate concubines,' with new title page and pagination. Both also scarce, with only 5 combined copies on the ESTC.;
