Label chipped, and much of gilt ornamentation on spine has rubbed away. Insect damage to leather on front board, and significant loss of material (both leather and board) to lower right corner of front board. Front free endpaper and frontispiece detached. Rear joint starting. Text block slightly age-toned and foxed with scattered water damage. Two volumes bound together. Each volume with engraved frontispiece and one additional full-page engraving.
