Gilt spine and crest on front and rear boards. The French translation is the work of Veron Forbonnais, Inspector General of currencies. It is dedicated to Jean-Baptiste de Machaut Arnouville of the Attorney General and Comptroller General of Finance under Louis XV. The author paints a broad picture of trade and the Spanish navy and its American colonies. It analyzes the causes of economic decline and proposes plans to restore the normal functioning of factories and the Navy. He advocated a thorough reform of finance and solutions to curb the imbalance of trade relations between Spain, England and America; ---TEXT IN FRENCH.
