NOTES
USTC 813392;
The edition statement and date are printed on the verso of the first leaf, which is otherwise blank. The title is a caption at the head of the text; The Second Edition was first published in 1530 with revised and corrected text by Bembo, and it follows that this version follows that text.
Gli Asolani was first printed in 1505 by Aldus Manutius and established Bembo as a major living Italian writer of prose interspersed with poetry. It contains three books of dialogue of love in Italian vernacular, as opposed to the Latin that one would expect.
